Learning Under Pressure
University Student Coaching. A Different Outlook
A lot of students who struggle at university are not struggling because they are incapable or unmotivated. They are struggling because the way they are being asked to work does not match how they actually think, process information, or perform under pressure.
I provide direct, 1-to-1 coaching for university students—including those dealing with intense workloads, uncertainty, or neurodivergence—who need a more realistic way of handling study, deadlines, and academic demands.
This is not tutoring, and it is not general study advice. It is focused, practical support for working out how you function under pressure and how to manage your degree in a way that actually fits you.
What We Focus On:
How you actually work: We look at how you process information, think through tasks, and get work done under pressure, and build a way of working that fits you rather than forcing you into a generic study method.
Cutting through the noise: Figuring out how to decode complex academic demands, read the actual state of play in your course, and ignore institutional distractions.
Managing pressure in real time: We deal with the stress, avoidance, and overload that show up during the degree itself, not in theory, so you can stay engaged enough to keep moving even when it feels difficult.
If you want to learn how to think clearly, adapt quickly, and take complete control of your own learning, let’s talk.

Feedback from students I’ve worked with
“My meetings with Nyla offered a weekly source of respite during a very difficult year. Amongst all the academic pressures, deadlines, and autistic burn-out, my meetings with Nyla offered a weekly source of respite. Most helpful for me was the flexible strategy taken, which adapted to my changing needs each week. Sometimes Nyla would offer constructive feedback on university assignments, other times she was somebody whom I could rant to, but throughout my entire academic journey she was somebody who I could look to for help and support. Nyla taught me that I didn’t have to be so hard on myself to succeed academically, a lesson I will take with me into postgraduate study.”

“Nyla was exactly the person I needed to coach me through my final year of university. She simultaneously held me accountable and guided me gently through some turbulent times. She’s able to gauge your needs very quickly and adapt her approach to suit you. Not only this, but she took a genuine interest in my studies and asked really great questions to help me add even more depth to my degree. I would recommend her to anybody in a heartbeat.”

“Nyla has been great at keeping me on task to manage and achieve my deadlines throughout my studies – everyone needs a Nyla! She is approachable, friendly and goes above and beyond to ensure she provides her full support to her students. I really didn’t know how I was going to write a 10,000 word dissertation, however Nyla helped ease my anxieties and gave me the encouragement to find the self-belief I needed. Nyla really has a wonderful way of making the unachievable achievable and does it almost without you realising – it’s a magic power! She has been a huge support in my journey to further my career, and I couldn’t thank her enough for simply believing in me and encouraging me to just keep going.”
